Blue Economy Expert Forum, Tulcea City, Romania
Tulcea County Council, in collaboration with its local partners from Tulcea, the National Institute for Research and Development "Danube Delta" and Complex Delta, invites you to participate in the Expert Forum themed "Challenges and Opportunities in the Danube Delta: advancing the blue economy", which will take place between 16–18 June in Tulcea City, Romania.
This forum will address the role that the Danube Delta plays in advancing a sustainable blue economy. As a critical interface between the Danube River Basin and the Black Sea, the Danube Delta represents one of Europe's most valuable ecological regions. In the context of increasing pressures generated by climate change, pollution, economic transitions and regional development, coordinated action is essential in order to unlock development opportunities while ensuring the protection of this unique ecosystem.
The central focus of the event is the EU Mission: "Restore our Ocean and Waters". Discussions will pay particular attention to topics such as innovation, governance, biodiversity protection, climate resilience and the sustainable development of the blue economy.
The event will bring together stakeholders from local, regional and European level, while the main discussion topics are detailed in the attached agenda.
We are a team of professionals passionate about promoting and supporting initiatives for the development of the blue economy in Tulcea and Danube Delta. The blue economy refers to all economic activities related to oceans, seas, and coastal areas.
