Tulcea County Council, in collaboration with its local partners in Tulcea, the National Institute for Research and Development "Danube Delta" and Complex Delta, invites participation in the expert forum on the theme "Challenges and Opportunities in the Danube Delta: Developing the Blue Economy", taking place between 16–18 June in the city of Tulcea, Romania. This forum will debate the role that the Danube Delta plays in developing a sustainable blue economy. As a critical interface between the Danube River basin and the Black Sea, the Danube Delta is one of the most important ecological regions in Europe. In the context of increasing pressures generated by climate change, pollution, economic transitions and regional development, coordinated action is essential to harness development opportunities while ensuring the protection of this unique ecosystem. The central focus of the event is the EU Mission: "Restore our Ocean and Waters". The discussions will pay particular attention to aspects such as innovation, governance, biodiversity protection, resilience to climate change and the sustainable development of the blue economy.
